Flood Relief Efforts in Dominican Republic

For us at CitiHope, one of our greatest gifts has not been found under a tree, but in the often intangible blessing of helping others in need. Right now, our friends in the Dominican Republic have been devastatingly affected by rain and rising waters; our team has mobilized to do what they can to help and we invite you to join us to make their continued efforts possible this holiday season.

The north coast of the Dominican Republic has been hit with rain for weeks on end, leading to massive flooding and destruction. Thousands of people have been displaced, lost their belongings, and even their homes. In this season of giving, our team is working diligently to provide disaster relief by bringing fortified food, medicine, water filters, hygiene kits, and insect repellent to prevent water born diseases and malnutrition. Please watch the video below to learn more…

In immediate response to the disaster caused by the severe flooding, CitiHope, through Sanar una Nación, delivered over $2.2 million in critically-needed medicines to flood victims.

These contributions will be used to treat related diseases such as: bacterial infections, febrile and viral Diseases, allergies, skin diseases, cardiac disease, and diabetes. Over 30,000 persons in the disaster area will be served based on the medicines, fortified food and provisions provided.

There is still much more work to be done. We invite you to join our disaster relief efforts in the Dominican Republic by making a donation today. Every dollar will be put into action immediately to serve those affected by the continued rain and rising waters.
